Innovation Born from Experience
After developing our first roll-up leather chess set, we began using it in the environments for which it had been created.

Aboard boats and on uneven surfaces, we noticed that the pieces could move or fall — a small inconvenience in many games, but a serious interruption in chess, where every position matters.

We wanted to preserve the elegance and portability of the original design while creating greater stability during play. This challenge led to the development of MELIA’s magnetic roll-up chess concept.
